Work for Lyrics, Lines, and Words Artist Residency

 I get to show and reside in the Honest Friend Brewing Company with Larry Doyle, and Carolyn Slebodnik.  We have worked on projects together and separately for 15+ years.

Most of my new work is tedious at best.  So the opportunity to show with my friends allowed me to focus on words and images that are fleeting and prophetic at times. 

The style that I reverted to is one of a black ground, then latex house paint negative space, followed by dry brush and text play.  

Working like this was freeing. It allowed me to get out of my head and into the work in the moment.

Hyper mythology

My  Hyper mythology is the instantaneous creation of myths, keeping known myths in mind, based on cues  or omens or mystery or magical events that are inexplainable or fantastical. Paying attention to instances huge and tiny. Trying to

why they puzzle me, why i can’t explain them with logic or learned experience.
